Monster’s Inc. Monster’s Inc. is a fictional tale about two monsters facing adversity. The soundtrack original score was composed and conducted by Randy Newman for Pixar. The album was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Score and a Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media. The score lost both these awards to The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, but after 16 nominations, the song If I Didnt Have You won Newman his first Academy Award for Best Original Song. It also won a Grammy for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media. In the opening credits, a version of the song â€Å"If I Didn’t Have You â€Å" – Billy†¦show more content†¦The girl was like a gnat that wouldn’t leave Sulley alone. Sulley being the soft hearted guy he is take the little girl to the restaurant where Mike Wizowski is having dinner with his love intere st Celia. The child gets away from Sulley’s hold and causes complete chaos. Randy Newman wrote a specific score for this part of the movie. The score was called â€Å"Boo’s Adventures in Monstropolis,† in this score a character theme was introduced. The theme was light and happy to portray the girl’s ignorance and innocence but at the same time loud, dramatic notes to emphasize what was happening in the scene played over it. Mike and Sulley go through many challenges trying to get Boo back to her door, at one point they even thought she was dead. During that scene Boo’s character theme was played along with soft dissonant notes to play simultaneously together. The last two songs of the movie were â€Å"Kitty† and â€Å"If I didn’t have you.† Kitty played when Mike and Sulley finally got Boo back to her door and it was time for her to leave, the music was melancholy the way the characters felt about their separation. Lastly â₠¬Å"If I didn’t have You† was the popular song in the whole movie at the end.
